The R-SEAT Center, in collaboration with RIDER, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and the Challenger Learning Center, led a highly engaging summer camp session on July 10, 2025. This initiative was designed to spark curiosity in K–12 learners through interactive, real-world applications of transportation and engineering research.
Featured Activities
1. Guess the R²: Transportation Data Challenge
Students explored how statistical correlations inform transportation planning. Through a gamified challenge, they analyzed real-world scatterplots, linking data patterns with practical insights into transit, safety, and infrastructure decisions.
2. Design a Bridge
Participants were introduced to digital bridge design using basic map/topo data and a guided 3D design tool. This session emphasized core concepts in civil engineering and surveying.
R-SEAT’s outreach efforts continue to inspire the next generation of engineers, planners, and scientists, making STEM tangible, playful, and impactful.
