On October 26th, REAT Center through Cleveland State University joined an exciting outreach event for elementary school students focused on buoyancy and density that was organized by the STEM Global Action and the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Elementary school students were provided with interactive demonstrations and experiments, allowing them to explore scientific concepts like density through activities designed to be both engaging and educational. This event aimed to foster curiosity about science and technology.
As part of the event, we displayed Ozobots emulating autonomous vehicles, linking STEM learning directly to real-world applications in transportation. The students watched in fascination as the miniature robots navigated their paths autonomously, introducing them to the concepts of automated navigation and smart technology. By incorporating autonomous vehicle technology, we underscored the importance of future workforce development in transportation and demonstrated our commitment to inspiring the next generation of innovators. This outreach activity reflects our center's dedication to nurturing early interest in smart mobility careers, thereby contributing to long-term workforce growth and development.
